Rod the Anime God, or simply Rod, is an entity made out of fire who calls himself the god of anime.
Physical Appearance[]
Rod, being a fire entity, has a large flame for a body with two fiery arms, a mouth, a tongue, yellow eyes, two white fuzzy eyebrows, a white fuzzy beard, and a yellow oude on his head with a Japanese word on it. His fiery body is orange and yellow but will appear red and yellow on some occasions.
Personality[]
Rod is omnipotent and omnipresent as he will pop up out of nowhere and say very useless things to people such as Gerald such as asking him if he looks like Antonio Banderas or not if he turned the other way. Throughout the series, Rod offered to buy a house from Coiffio, which he would eventually moved into with his new family. He is also a LSD dealer, as revealed in "Tusk", a smoker since he is born to smoke, and a reverend, which he served as during the wedding of the Young Man and Brenda in "Muscular Distraction."
Powers and Abilities[]
As an entity, Rod has the powers of appearing or disappearing at all, growing from big to small, farting (which can flash him blue), transporting everyone to a deadly motorcycle race, and setting things on fire (such as the forest to his oude) from either his flaming body or a lighter due to him being a bon flame.
Trivia[]
- Rod is voiced by Matt Maiellaro, one of the series' co-creators, who also performs the voice of Uncle Grandfather.
- "Woke Up Drunk" is the only episode in the series where Rod doesn't make any appearance in.
- His name comes from the word "parody", not just because he's an anime god, but references how Perfect Hair Forever is an anime parody series made by Adult Swim.
- The Japanese word that appears on his oude is "Chouzume", which means the word "Sausage" in English.
- He was originally going to appear in the Adult Swim series Squidbillies but was scrapped from the final product.
